Cruel Temptation
Gu Eun Jae (played by actress Jang Suh-Hee) graduated as a fashion design major at a university and begins preparations to study abroad in France. Her dreams to study in France are halted by a pregnancy with Jung Gyo Bin (played by actor Byun Woo-Min). Thus, she decides to marry him, giving up on her dreams. However, the pregnancy is soon ended by a tragic miscarriage and it takes a long time until Eun Jae becomes pregnant again.
At about the same time when Eun Jae finds out about her 1st pregnancy, Eun Jae’s friend from school Ae Ri (played by actress Kim Seo Hyung) returns from France. Ae Ri was once the girlfriend of Eun Jae’s brother Kang Jae, and Eun Jae's vest friend, before she left for France. When Ae Ri left for France 5 years ago, she mentioned that someone was helping her take care of her tuition fees; it turns out that Eun Jae’s husband Gyo Bin was the one helping her.
Eun Jae finds out that her husband had been cheating on her with Ae Ri 5 years ago, and to add further insult, Ae Ri had Gyo Bin’s child. Eun Jae’s brother finds out about all this and beats up Gyo Bin, which causes Gyo Bin and his mother to force Eun Jae to sign for a divorce. After the divorce, Gyo Bin and Ae Ri get married while Eun Jae moves to an island to get away from it all.
Ae Ri and Gyo Bin pay a visit to Eun Jae demanding her to get an abortion. Gyo Bin throws her necklace, given by her father-in-law as a promise not to give up on Gyo Bin into the sea. In an attempt to retrieve the necklace, Gyo Bin abandons Eun Jae at sea, leaveing her to drown and eventually die. Ae Ri and Gyo Bin decide to keep this a secret, by lying that Eun Jae had committed suicide.
In the meanwhile, Gun Woo, the adoptive son of Lady Min happened to be near the island Eun Jae was on, in a search for his missing sister. He finds Eun Jae unconscious and takes her to the doctor where she finds out she had another miscarriage. Lady Min bring Eun Jae into her home as she thought her experience was similar to hers. She takes the identity of Lady Min's presumably dead daughter, So Hee, and seeks revenge against Gyo Bin and Ae Ri. In the event of things Gun woo and Eun jae eventually fall in love.
As So Hee and Gyo-bin "fall in love", Ae Ri gets suspicious of So Hee. One day the two women meet, making Ae Ri positively sure that this So Hee was indeed the assumed downed Eun Jae. But Eun Jae acted very well and insisted that Ae Ri was crazy. Ae Ri not wanting to lose her man, keeps going to Lady Min's house and ruining everything. Gyo Bin divorces Ae Ri and marries So Hee.
Gyo-bin kicks Ae ri out of her house, but keeps Nino, Ae ri's son. Nino is rude to So Hee because of the stories his mother tells him about her. Ae Ri gets even more suspicous and calls Gyo bin when So Hee and Gun woo embrace. So Hee kisses Gyo bin, ensuring him that Gun woo and her are just close siblings. Gyo-bin wants to commsumate the marriage with So Hee, but she bought twin beds instead of one big bed, settling the problem. Ae Ri begs Gyo-bin and his family to give her son to her.
In the end, Ae Ri gets Nino, but Nino gets injured and Ae Ri pities for her son, as she was poor and was not able to afford him anything he wanted. The real So Hee comes back, and suffers from serious depression. She gets mad at Eun Jae because Gun woo fell in love with her and they planned a wedding. So Hee crashes the wedding.
One day Eun Jae went to work and everyone was praising her because of her make-up artist skills. So Hee tells all the workers that she was the real daughter of Lady Min and she proclaims herself the owner of Min Beauty Shop. Ae Ri saw this and asks So Hee to cooperate with her to ruin Eun Jae's life. At first, this works out, but soon this partnership ends.
Lady Min had a history with Jung Ha Jo, Gyo Bin's father. They had a child together (they were not married at the time), named Byul (meaning Star.) Ha Jo supposedly killed Star and killed Lady Min's father, and stole a deed to a piece of land. Lady Min gets revenge by telling Ha Jo to give up all his assets (including Chunji Constructions) and selling his house. (So Hee already revealed her real identity before this happened.)
Ha Jo does as Lady Min requests, and Eun Jae's family stays in the house Ha Jo and family used to stay. So Hee persuades her mother to get Gun Woo to marry her. (So Hee is Lady Min's real daughter and Gun Woo was adopted.) Lady Min tells Gun Woo that he had two choices: marry So Hee and Eun Jae's alliance will be better than ever, or marry Eun Jae and Lady Min will never talk to Gun Woo or Eun Jae again.
In order to make Eun Jae's life better, Gun Woo marries So Hee thinking that her depression would get better, and So Hee would treat Eun Jae better. Instead, So Hee does the complete opposite. One day, Gun Woo went to work to sign a contract with Harrison. Ae ri wants to be back with Gyo bin, so she told Gyo-Bin to sign the contract.
Meanwhile, So Hee ruins Eun Jae's artwork and rips a page out. While they fight, Ae Ri calls Gun Woo and informs him about how Eun Jae is getting bullied by So Hee. Gun Woo turns the car and drives straght to the Beauty Shop. He sees So Hee ripping the page and tells her to divorce him. As a result, Gun Woo is late for his meeting, so Ha Jo tells Gyo Bin to sign the contract instead.
Gun Woo is determined to divorce So Hee no matter what. Ae Ri comes back to the family. She makes Gyo Bin sleep with her, making her pregnant. While she is pregnant, she has an advanced stage of stomach cancer. Doctors tell her to get an abortion so she can have the cancer surgery, but she refused, thinking that the baby is the only way to keep Gyo Bin and her together.
Ae Ri and Eun Jae join a make up competition that has three stages. The first stage has Ae Ri, another lady, and Eun Jae competing. In the second stage, Ae Ri and Eun Jae and would be competing against each other. And finally in the third stage, Ae ri gets so desperate that she bribes the judges. The competition has different judges for each stage. Ae Ri sabotages Eun Jae by getting her another model, who is allergic to natural make-up, which was about this competition. The judges ask Eun Jae why she kept erasing the model's make-up and Eun Jae tells about the model's allergy. She covered the rash with her concealer. The judges proclaim Ae Ri as the grand prize winner.
Fortunately, the judges find out in time that Ae Ri had bribed the judges, so the winner was Eun Jae. Although Ae Ri has a miscarriage, she and Eun Jae became true friends again. Eun Jae insists Ae Ri to get the cancer treatment surgery, but Ae Ri is scared that she will die.
In the last episode, Hanuel (who is the real, living Star) becomes pregnant. Ae Ri and Gyo Bin go on a vacaton. During this vacation, Ae Ri made a sea shell neckalace for Nino. Ae Ri pens two letters: one for Gyo-bin and one for Eun Jae. Ae Ri attempts suicide and Gyo-Bin tries to save her. Ae ri was screams at him to let go because he needed to take care of Nino and that she was going to die anyway. However, he said he that he was not going to let go and he was going to save her. In the end, the couple down.
Eun Jae gives Nino the sea shell neckalace that Ae Ri made for him, saying "This is the last present your mother is giving you." Nino almost has a car accident, but he insists that his mother and father was on the other side of the street. Everybody assumed that they were protecting their son from danger. Ae Ri's letter to Eun Jae said to bury her ashes on the beach where Eun Jae almost died in.
So Hee and her mother decide to go to America together. Lady Min gives Ha Jo the papers to own Chunji Constructions again. Gun Woo meets Eun Jae while she was spreading the ashes. He apologises for hurting her feelings andpromises that he will not do it again. He wants Eun Jae to be his wife again. So hee gave Eun Jae two rings and a note saying "I broke you two up. Here's the chance to get back together again." Gun Woo puts his arm around Eun Jae and looks at the sky with her. They were positive that they saw Ae Ri and Gyo-Bin together. The whole drama ends by having the two couples smiling at each other, with Ae Ri and Gyo-Bin in white, looking back at their friends.

A powerful explosion has hit a nuclear power station in north-eastern Japan which was badly damaged in Friday's devastating earthquake and tsunami.

A building housing a reactor was destroyed, but authorities said the reactor itself was intact.

The government sought to play down fears of a meltdown at the Fukushima 1 plant.

But officials later announced the cooling system of a second reactor at the plant had failed.

The news sparked fears of a the risk of a further explosion or leak of radioactive material.

A huge rescue and relief operation is under way in the region after the earthquake and subsequent tsunami, which are thought to have killed more than 1,000 people.

Tokyo Electric Power said four of its workers had been injured in Saturday's blast at Fukushima, 250km (155 miles) north of Tokyo, but that their injuries were not life-threatening.

An evacuation zone around the damaged nuclear plant has been extended to 20km (12.4 miles) from 10km, and a state of emergency declared.

An estimated 200,000 people have been evacuated from the area, the International Atomic Energy Agency says.

The government has urged residents to remain calm and is preparing to distribute iodine to anyone affected.

Tests showed at least three patients evacuated from a hospital near the plant had been exposed to radiation, public broadcaster NHK quoted local government officials as saying. They were among a group of people waiting outside the hospital for rescue helicopters when the explosion hit the plant.

Government spokesman Yukio Edano said the force of the explosion had destroyed the concrete roof and walls of a building around the plant's number one reactor, but a steel container encasing the reactor had not been ruptured.

Mr Edano said radiation levels around the plant had fallen after the explosion. He added that sea water was being pumped into the site to lower temperatures.

Before the explosion, Japan's nuclear agency had said that radioactive caesium and iodine had been detected near the number one reactor. The agency said this could indicate that containers of uranium fuel inside the reactor may have begun melting.

Air and steam, with some level of radioactivity, was earlier released from several of the reactors at both plants in an effort to relieve the huge amount of pressure building up inside.

Scenes of devastation

The tsunami that followed the 8.9-magnitude earthquake wreaked havoc along a huge stretch of on Japan's north-east coast, sweeping far inland and devastating a number of towns and villages.

The BBC's Damian Grammaticas in the coastal city of Sendai, in Miyagi prefecture, says the scenes of devastation there are astonishing - giant shipping containers have been swept inland and smashed against buildings, and fires are still burning close to the harbour.

The scale of the devastation is immense

Police said between 200 and 300 bodies were found in just one ward of the city.

The town of Rikuzentakada, Iwate, was reported as largely destroyed and almost completely submerged. NHK reported that soldiers had found up to 400 bodies there.

NHK reports that in the port of Minamisanriku, Miyagi, the authorities say that about 7,500 people were evacuated to 25 shelters after Friday's quake but they have been unable to contact the town's other 10,000 inhabitants.

A local official in the town of Futaba, Fukushima, said more than 90% of the houses in three coastal communities had been washed away by the tsunami.

"The tsunami was unbelievably fast," said Koichi Takairin, a 34-year-old truck driver who was inside his four-ton rig when the wave hit Sendai. "Smaller cars were being swept around me. All I could do was sit in my truck."

Tens of thousands of troops backed by ships and helicopters have been deployed on rescue and relief missions. More than 215,000 people are said to be living in 1,350 temporary shelters in five prefectures.

International disaster relief teams are being sent to Japan, with the United Nations helping to co-ordinate the operation.

President Barack Obama has pledged US assistance. One US aircraft carrier that was already in Japan will help with rescue and relief efforts, and a second is on its way.

Japan's worst previous earthquake was of 8.3 magnitude and killed 143,000 people in Kanto in 1923. A magnitude 7.2 quake in Kobe killed 6,400 people in 1995.

The term "meltdown" raises associations with two nuclear accidents in living memory: Three Mile Island in the US in 1979, and Chernobyl in Ukraine in 1986.

In both, excess heat in the reactor caused fuel to melt - and in the first, wider melting of the core. The question is whether the same thing has happened in Fukushima.

It appears that the reactor was shut down well before any melting occurred, which should reduce considerably the risk of radioactive materials entering the environment.

However, the detection of caesium isotopes outside the power station buildings could imply that the core has been exposed to the air.

Although Japan has a long and largely successful nuclear power programme, officials have been less than honest about some incidents in the past, meaning that official reassurances are unlikely to convince everyone this time round.

Ratu Kalajengking Thailand, Kanchana Ketkeaw, mengisi waktunya dengan membaca majalan saat ia berusaha memecahkan rekor 'hidup terlama dengan kalajengking' pada 2002 lalu. Tetapi dia bukan satu-satunya, inilah sebagian dari rekor-rekor tergila dan terhebat yang dibuat dan dipecahkan di Thailand dalam 20 tahun terakhir. 

1. Pernikahan termahal hewan peliharaan
Sejak 1996 sampai sekarang, rekor ini belum terpecahkan. Kucing Phet dan Ploy menikah mengenakan baju senada warna pink. Kucing-kucing ini bukan jenis sembarangan, keduanya memiliki 'mata berlian', yang sebenarnya adalah semacam penyakit glaukoma. Orang Thailand justru mempercayai bahwa 'mata berlian' itu membawa keberuntungan. 

Pernikahan kedua kucing ini menghabiskan lebih dari 400 ribu baht (Rp 135,9 juta) dan dihadiri oleh 500 tamu. Para tamu memberi hadiah uang yang totalnya berjumlah 15 juta baht (Rp 4,3 miliar) dengan mas kawin seharga 550 ribu baht (Rp 159 juta). 2. Paling lama hidup dengan kalajengking
Kanchana Ketkeaw adalah ratu kalajengking Thailand. Ia memecahkan rekornya sendiri pada Januari tahun lalu saat tinggal di kotak kaca seukuran kamar tidur selama 33 hari dengan 5000 ekor kalajengking. 

Pada 2002, ia tinggal di kamar yang sama selama 32 hari dengan 3400 ekor kalajengking. Perempuan ini sudah menjadi legenda lokal atas keberaniannya. Ia pun sering mempertontonkan 'keahliannya' itu untuk para turis.
